Never bet against Marc Benioff.
I opened AIWA TOT #15 with that same line. I’m using it again.
He calls his shot and delivers. Again and again.

He called his shot with Ben Thompson on Stratechery in October 2024.
He turned it into architecture at TDX on 04.15.26.
Last week, he put a P&L behind it.
“We just had one of the best quarters ever, and we outperformed on all of our key metrics.”
“This nonsense of this SaaSpocalypse, I think it's time for it to stop.”

Deterministic foundation. Probabilistic models.
This is the pairing that captures your imagination.
“Models are probabilistic systems. They're non-deterministic systems, but our system, our system, those four layers that we talked about with data and apps and semantics and agents, those are deterministic systems.”
“But when you put those two things together, that's a level of value we've never seen before.”
Since 1999, Salesforce has been accumulating business logic, permissions, sharing models and governance. Now there’s a reasoning engine capable of reading all of it.
“It’s a shift from software as the interface to software powering every interface.”
Andrej Karpathy named the org-level harness in June along with naming the 3rd AI Paradigm. Benioff shipped one in August. Referring to it as a harness too.

The flywheel.
“All that data inside Salesforce now provides hundreds of petabytes of critical context so agents can actually understand your business.”
Better context makes the models more useful. More useful models drive more consumption. More consumption kicks off more data. More data enhances the context.
Rinse and repeat.

Build the part only you can build.
Marc brought David Friedberg on the call.
His company, Ohalo, just moved onto Salesforce.
He tried to vibe code his own CRM over a weekend first.
“You quickly realize just how much it takes to do maintenance, to do accounts, to do security. There’s just much more to it.”
So he ended his vibe coding experiment and got specific about the focus of his engineering team.
“I’m not going to create value as a business by doing something that everyone else does. If everyone else is using Microsoft Excel, I’m not going to go build Microsoft Excel.”
Not ERP. Not Slack. Not CRM.
“We’re going to build custom interfaces for doing plant breeding…for selecting the right product for a farmer based on my satellite and radar imagery.”
The differentiation was never in the CRM. It’s in the part only Ohalo could build.
The alpha.
Joe Bradley, CTO of IDC, said the same thing last week on AIWA E33.
Carve away everything that isn’t the sculpture.

Once again, never bet against Marc Benioff.
Humans + Machines. Never Humans vs. Machines.
